Kilt Making Courses


 We offer an intensive 2 week course, Monday to Friday.  Here you will make one full traditional handsewn kilt under the complete supervision of a time served expert kiltmaker.
Course Description
Learn the wonderful and exciting history of kilts and tartan
The complexities of tartan the textile
How to take measurements of all shapes and sizes
Setting up the tartan
Hand sewing techniques and then Hand sew the entire kilt
Learning the secret of the internal construction of a kilt

You will also be invited to join our online kiltmakers community, for any help or advice you may need in the future or if you just want the patter.

The cost of this course is £600 (including VAT)  not including materials.   We are including two extra ‘drop in days’ as part of this price – so this is 12 days in total. These extra days could run straight after the 2 weeks or another time that’s convenient.

You will have the weekends free to discover our beautiful city.  There are a lot of places for accommodation,  from Airb&bs to top hotels.
